Male Sexual Dysfunction

Previous

Almost one third of men suffer from sexual problems including erectile dysfunction, delay in reaching ejaculation, discomfort, or simply lack of pleasure associated with sexual activity. In some cases the cause may be physical such as hypertension or vascular disease, diabetes or nerve problems, low levels of testosterone and so on. In all cases, to begin to explore your concerns about sex, a thorough physical examination is needed.

Sometimes sexual dysfunction can be caused by medications such as antidepressants, and blood pressure medicines.

When physical causes have been excluded there are a number of men who experience low libido, erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, or delayed orgasm as a result of emotional issues. Sometimes this can reflect problems in the relationship with their sexual partner. For others  the cause may be related to depression, anxiety, alcoholism or drug use.

If you need to explore these emotional aspects, you may  contact Dr. Hudson knowing he has over thirty years experience as a physician, and is trained in both medicine and psychotherapy. Using traditional psychotherapeutic methods Dr. Hudson will work with you to explore your understanding of your sexual response, and increase your enjoyment of sexual activity.
